ABOUT THE RACE:
Race Divisions for both boys and girls:
- 4 and under: 100 yard dash (parents may run with their child(ren) during this race)
- 5-6 yrs: 200 yard dash
- ‘Age to Age’ Family Fun Mile: Extended family members can put together a team of four to run in a non-competitive, one mile relay race.
- 7-8 yrs: 1/4 mile
- 9-10 yrs: 1/2 mile
- 11-12 yrs: 1/2 mile
- Lumberjack Mile (12 and under)
- Legacy Mile age (13 and older)
Participation ribbons will be given to all 12 and under finishers. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each age division for the Legacy Mile Walk/Run.
WHERE: Cloquet High School Outdoor Track, 1008 18th St., Cloquet, MN. Track entrance on 22nd Street
WHEN: Saturday, May 13, 2017. Races begin at 10:00 a.m. Check-in and same-day registration is from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Pre-race day check-in will be Friday, May 12th, 3:00-4:00 p.m. at Washington Elementary. Awards ceremony to follow the event. The event is open to the public.
COURSE: Participants will race on an outdoor 400-meter track. The race will be timed.
RACE AMENITIES: This event will feature an opening flag ceremony, mascot race, silent auction, door prize giveaways, kids’ fun area, and an awards ceremony following the races. Concessions will be available for purchase. A registered nurse will be on site. Must be present for door prizes. Race bags will be given to the first 250 12 & under registered participants.
Weather Cancellation Policy: The safety of our participants is the most important thing and if any threatening weather conditions present themselves on race day, the event may be canceled or delayed.
Threatening Weather Conditions
The Lumberjacks Lap event will be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: tornado warning, tornado watch, thunderstorm, heavy rain or any other major weather condition.
Start of the Race/Cancellation of the Event
The start of the event may be delayed one half hour from the posted start time if any of the above conditions exist. The event will be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: tornado warning, tornado watch or thunderstorm.
Authority to Cancel the Event
The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided since the funds were already spent in preparation for race day.
In the event of a cancellation, participants will still be able to receive their race packets and t-shirts by picking them up at Washington Elementary.
